Privacy policy

This policy describes what we actually do with your data: what we collect, why, who has access to it, how long we keep it and what your rights are. It applies to the rangura.com website, to the quote and demonstration request forms, and to the Rangura application.

1. Data controller

2. Data we collect

• "Get your quote" form: name, company, work email, delivery country, your choices (genuine parts or equivalents, preferred currency), your message and the files you attach (Excel or PDF lists, nameplate photos).
• "Demo" form: name, company, work email, country, type of company, size of the purchasing team, message.
• Rangura application accounts (software customers and the FAMED team): sign-in email address, role, activity and security logs (date, action, IP address).
• Exchanges by email and WhatsApp: the content of messages and attachments needed for your request.
• Technical data: IP address and timestamp of requests, for security and to limit the number of requests per address.
• Audience measurement: none. The site uses no advertising cookie and no third-party tracking tool.

3. Why we use it

• To answer your request and prepare your quote (finding the parts, working out freight, duties and taxes).
• To fulfil the order: purchase, consolidation, shipping, customs clearance, delivery, invoicing.
• To organise and run a demonstration of the software.
• To provide the Rangura software to customer companies and keep it running.
• To secure the site and the application (sign-in, logs, request limits).
• To meet our accounting, tax and legal obligations.

4. Legal grounds

Pre-contractual steps and performance of the contract (quote, order, demonstration, software subscription); legitimate interest (security, abuse prevention, service improvement); legal obligations (accounting, tax, export control); consent where required, which you may withdraw at any time.

5. Who receives your data

We never sell your data. It is processed by the providers below, each for its own role and only to the extent necessary.

• Hosting of the application and the website: Render (United States), servers in Frankfurt, Germany.
• Accounts and sign-in: Supabase (Singapore), project region provided on request.
• Email, documents and quotes: Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets). Your emails, lists and quotes are kept there in the folders of your request.
• Automatic reading of lists and documents: to extract the references from your list, find prices and prepare the quote, the content of your files and messages is sent to artificial-intelligence providers: OpenAI (reading lists, PDFs and photos), Perplexity (searching prices and datasheets on the web) and Anthropic (assistant, summaries). Only the content needed for the request is sent; they are not allowed to use it for any purpose other than providing the service.
• Freight estimates: EasyPost receives weights, dimensions and countries, never personal data.
• Suppliers, forwarders, carriers, insurers and customs authorities: only the information needed to buy, ship and deliver (company, delivery address, on-site contact).
• WhatsApp (Meta) when you choose that channel to write to us.

6. Transfers outside your country

Our providers are established in the United States, Germany and Singapore. Transfers rely on the safeguards provided by applicable law (these providers' contractual clauses, the security measures described below). Details are available on request.

7. How long we keep it

Proposed periods, reviewed with our counsel:

• Quote or demo request without follow-up: 24 months after the last exchange.
• Customer files (quotes, orders, deliveries): for the duration of the business relationship, then 5 years after the close of the relevant financial year, in line with the accounting and tax obligations of the United Arab Emirates; longer where the law of your country requires it.
• Application accounts: duration of the contract, then 12 months.
• Security logs: 12 months.

8. Your rights

You may request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of or objection to its processing, its portability, and withdraw a consent you have given. Write to contact@famed-ltd.com. We reply within one month. You may also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority competent in your country.

9. Security

What is in place today: encrypted exchanges (HTTPS/TLS); data encrypted at rest by our hosting providers (Render, Supabase, Google); mandatory sign-in to the application with signed tokens and roles (read, administration); programming interface restricted to named, logged tokens; request limits per address; daily, verified database backups; each customer company's data kept separate in the application.

10. Cookies and browser storage

The site sets no advertising or audience-measurement cookie. The browser keeps only your language choice and, for signed-in users, the application session (sign-in tokens). You can clear them from your browser.

11. Software customer companies

For the data that customer companies put into Rangura (their cases, prices, suppliers, documents), FAMED LLC acts as a processor on behalf of those companies, which remain responsible for it. Each company has its own space; our teams do not access that data without the company's written authorisation, for assistance it requests. A data processing agreement is available on request.

12. Professionals only

Our services are intended exclusively for professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

13. Framework and changes

This policy is drawn up with regard to Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 of the United Arab Emirates on the protection of personal data and, where applicable, the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation. It may be updated; the update date is shown at the top of the page.
